Coaching Information

Be your child's hero and help out the team!

Nothing is more rewarding than coaching your child! What's it entail? All of our teams have volunteer coaches to help develop both their playing skills and good sportsmanship. If you are interested, you can note this on your child’s registration. Teams need head coaches, maybe a co-coach, team mom/dad, or maybe someone just in charge of communication or practice. Plus we provide shirts for all coaches so you can match your team! Coaches also get a discount on their next league registration.

COACHING TIPS

Communication is key to being a great and successful coach with Club Sport Kids. Our goal is to provide all of our coaches and team helpers with the tools needed to have a fun and wonderful season. We recently transitioned to a new software system that we have high hopes of being great in this aspect. However as of now the communication tools we hope for are not ready. These will include RSVP abilities, team messaging, access to contact info/rosters, and more!

Currently coaches and parents will be sent all the team info via email. It is recommended that using this information to start a commuinciation plan offline from the Club Sport Kids account manamgent site - either via email, text, or social media groups. As we develop a more robust online commuincation platform we'll let all of our players and parents know!

That said, below are some great examples for coaches to reach out to your players prior to the begininng of the season. If you have any questions feel free to email us!

Accessing your roster:

If you have been assigned as a coach or have been sent a coach invite and have accepted it, you should be listed as a coach when you log into your account. From here you can see your team roster and contact info. This will list players and parents phone numbers. A seperate message will be sent from Club Sport listing full contact info (both parents if appliciable, emails, etc). The accouncement button allows you to sent texts and emails directly from the system, however these are NO REPLY messages - so we suggest forming your own text chain with your team if needed.

WELCOME EMAILS FROM COACHES

It's good practice to send a "Welcome Message" to your team via email Below are example messages you can customize pertaining to either SOCCER or FOOTBALL!

Example SOCCER welcome message:

I hope everyone is ready for a great season of soccer!  My name is ___________ and I'll be coaching the team this season.  Our first game is at _____, so I'll plan on having a quick practice at _____ near our scheduled field before the game.  If you have one, please bring a soccer ball, along with cleats & shin guards.  Also, I am looking for a volunteer to serve as an assistant to help during the season so please let me know if you are interested. Every child should have a water bottle for hydration. Lastly I'll bring a halftime snack with drinks for the first game and circulate a signup sheet for the remainder of the season.

I hope your kids are excited about getting started, so please feel free to email or call me if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Coach _______, Ph #_____________

P.S. - I will have all the jerseys the first game. You may want to bring chairs or blankets to sit comfortably on the side lines (keeping a 3 foot buffer from the field) and bug spray/sun block, but definitely bring lots of encouragement for the kids!

Example FOOTBALL welcome message:

I hope everyone is ready for a great season of flag football!  My name is ___________ and I'll be coaching the team this season.  I'll bring the uniforms & flags the first game. Our first game is at _____, so I'll plan on having a quick practice at _____ near our scheduled field before the game.  Remember mouthguards are required for all players.  Also, I am looking for a volunteer to serve as an assistant to help during the season so please let me know if you are interested. Every child should have a water bottle for hydration. Lastly I'll bring a halftime snack with drinks for the first game and circulate a signup sheet for the remainder of the season.
